human computer interaction

Applications of Drancing

The system has many possible applications beyond music and performance to:
- movement therapy
- sports science
- non-tactile human computer interaction, including "air typing".

DranceWare: Java3D: UML: accelerometer interaction demo

The DranceWare Java3D base is extended to implement a simple demonstration of virtual interaction between the Drancing sensor suit with 5 triaxial accelerometers and Java3D colour cubes.

DranceWare: Java3D: "body star" accelerometer suit interaction animation

The Drancing sensor suit has 5 triaxial accelerometers. The position of each of the Java3D 6-colour cubes is displaced according to the signals of a 3D accelerometer. The effect is different from motion-capture animation, there is no direct relationship between distance of movement of the performer and the displacement distance.

UML instance model of a DranceMan

A DranceMan composed of 5 Drancel units worn on the hands, feet, and waist. This multiplexing (combined with master-slaving) could be repeated to include many DranceMan systems for many "Drancer" performers controlled by DranceWare over a large arena. That's Drancing !
