Gallery: UML Parsing Analysis example: Wikipedia space science (2005)
This content or the technology discussed here is HISTORICAL or ARCHIVAL
This model is inspired by Wikipedia articles starting at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planet.
The older UML™ Parsing Analysis approach shown is quite naive:
- Elements in diagrams are always shown physically packaged in Model and Package elements, there is no use made of logical and graphical «wrapper» Components (compare with Gallery: UML Parsing Analysis example: Wikipedia particle physics (from 2005)).
- Source text (where present) is only contained in notes or Comment elements, rather than relatable parsing containers such as Component.
- In some cases there is no binding to source text at all, so such diagrams do not really adhere to the principles of UML™ Parsing Analysis.
Nevertheless, these diagrams illustrate well the first stages of developing a UML model driven by analysis of interesting parsed source text. And they are colourful and fun ! Don't miss the infamously HUGE diagram Spacecraft and exploration of our solar system. Note how one can reuse elements from that diagram and from the Spacecraft and exploration of our solar system diagram to create a new diagram about Mars exploration.
