Java Data Objects (JDO)TM zone

Java Data Objects (JDO)TM offers powerful object-relational persistence. It offers (according to its advocates) an alternative to apparent limitations of the Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) technology of Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE). I'm no J2EE or EJB expert, I just know that Java Data Objects (JDO)TM is the bees knees, having used it on substantial modelling projects as illustrated below. More examples of my work with Java Data Objects (JDO)TM will appear here as time permits, modelled in Unified Modelling Language (UML)TM.

Useful JDO links:

  • Java Data Objects by Robin Roos (available as PDF download, fantastic and generous, thanks Robin !)
  • KODO JDO: a commercial high-performance implementation with great documentation.
  • TriActive JDO (TJDO) the open source implementation of Sun's JDO specification (JSR 12) that I used for the radiotelescope project. You're on your own a bit for docs.
