I work frequently with "The worlds' most popular open-source database" MySQL^(R), either "directly" via Java^TM's JDBC or via the object-relational mapping system Java Data Objects (JDO)^TM. I can be consulted on a wide range of SQL-based projects and can organise cost-effective SQL-driven web site hosting. That said, I much prefer to work with the object-based JDO Query Language (JDOQL) these days than SQL !
