Drancing is acceleration-centric because acceleration is independent of a fixed reference system !

Although Drancing can easily synthesise audio and video from any signal sources, the Drancing system does NOT (usually) use velocity or position coordinates, because these break the fundamental requirement that the system can be used (nearly) anywhere and over a large area (out in space, while riding a bike, on a boat in a lake, in a big stadium) without a fixed reference system !

Drancing is NOT a motion capture animation system, it is an acceleration-driven gestural synthesis system. I don't worry about integrating accelerometer signals, I use them organically, and love them for what they are .. acceleration (dynamic+gravitational), which Einstein taught us is independent of a fixed reference system.
